Frequently Asked Questions

Does Wellspring take insurance?

Wellspring does not currently bill insurance. But your visit may still be partially covered! After your visit, we’ll give you a document called a “superbill.” With the superbill, you can usually get insurance to partially reimburse your visit after the fact. Find out the details in this blog post.

Are weight loss medications safe?

Yes – when prescribed and monitored by a medical professional and taken according to directions. The newest class of medications being used for weight management, the GLP-1 agonists, are actually some of the safest medications ever used for this purpose. They have very few interactions with other drugs and a mild side effect profile. As with any medication, it’s important to work closely with your medical provider, be completely honest with them, and follow their instructions.

What will happen at my first visit to Wellspring?

First, we draw blood for a comprehensive lab test – including tests for diabetes, thyroid function, hormones, vitamins, and everything else that could affect your weight and energy levels. Then, one of our nurse practitioners will get to know your history with your weight, and together you’ll make a plan to address your concerns and meet your goals in the most cost-effective way possible.

How much does it cost?

Until April 30th, 2024, a full lab panel plus initial medical consultation is $299. Prescription costs vary, depending on which medication and dose is most appropriate for you. Follow-up appointments are $100.

Is Wellspring a med-spa?

No! Weight loss is healthcare, and Wellspring is a medical clinic focusing on proven and effective treatments for obesity. Med-spas often use unclear dosing, medications with lower quality standards, and weekly appointments, all designed to extract more money from the customer. Some of their services are not proven to be effective at all. With Wellspring, you can be sure you’ll get real medical professionals, real medicine, and a plan to help you get to the bottom of your weight as safely and effectively as possible.
